Highlights

Itinerary

Morocco Itinerary 7 Days: Your Morocco luxury tour begins with meeting the driver at the gate of the airport in Casablanca or Marrakech. We will drive to the Medina of Marrakech to check into your luxury riad. Depending on your flight arrival time, you may have free time to explore Jemaa el Fna Square on your own.

Overnight in Marrakech.

After breakfast at the luxury Riad or hotel, we will spend the entire day exploring Marrakesh, known as the “Pearl of the South.” As one of the Kingdom’s capitals under three Moroccan sultanate rulers, the city has many museums and architectural landmarks. We will spend the morning visiting the city’s main attractions: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Gardens, the Menara Pavilion surrounded by olive groves, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and El Badii Palace. After lunch, you will visit Morocco’s most vibrant market and the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, a lively outdoor theater with snake charmers, healers, sorcerers, fruit vendors, and spice traders.

On the third day of our 7-day Morocco itinerary, we will travel from Marrakech through the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains to reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most picturesque settlements and a UNESCO World Heritage candidate. After that, we will continue to Ouarzazate, known for its large African filmmaking facility where movies like The Mummy, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed. After lunch, we will head to Dades Gorges, where you will spend the night in a hotel with complimentary dinner and breakfast. On the way from Ouarzazate to Dades, we will pass through the Valley of Roses at Kelaat M’Gouna, famous for its annual rose festival.

After breakfast at the hotel in Dades Valley, our destination will be Merzouga Desert. On the way, we will stop to take a panoramic photograph near the charming town of Tinghir, located in the heart of a large palm oasis. Next, we will visit the renowned Todra Gorge and take a stroll along the river and through the gorge. Later, we will travel to Erfoud to visit “The Fossil Factory” and see the various fossils abundant in this area. Finally, we will proceed to Merzouga to spend the night in a luxury desert camp after a camel trek.

We will rise early to witness the sunrise over the magnificent and serene sand dunes. This will be one of your most vivid memories of Morocco! After breakfast, we will begin our journey to Fez. Although it’s one of the longer drives—about 7 hours without stops—the changing scenery will make the time fly by.

On the way, we will travel through the Ziz River’s gorge and valley, one of Africa’s longest valleys. We will stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing our journey. As we travel from Ifrane to Azrou, we will see the magnificent Atlas cedars and have the chance to feed the friendly wild monkeys.

We will also stop in Ifrane, known as “Moroccan Switzerland” for its European-like climate, parks with lakes and chalets, ski resort, and winter snow. We will reach Fez in the evening and stay there for the night.

We will explore the heart of the country’s culture and religion. As we wander through the ancient Medina’s narrow streets, we’ll discover many historical and architectural landmarks from the time when this place was the capital of the Kingdom of the Sultans from the Merinid and Alaouite dynasties. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a medieval city in the East.

Most of these buildings showcase stunning Moorish architecture. We’ll visit the Bu Inanya mosque, the madrassas (Muslim universities), Nejarin Square, and the fountain. Our tour will also include a visit to the Chouara Tannery, where you can witness the traditional tanning process that has been practiced for centuries.

Next, we’ll explore the handicraft district, where artisans create Moroccan lanterns, leather goods, and ceramics using techniques passed down through generations. These secrets have been carefully handed down from great-grandfathers to grandfathers and then to the present artisans.

Our tour will also take us to the University of Al Quaraouine, one of the oldest continuously operating universities in the world, demonstrating the rich intellectual history of the region.

Lastly, our exploration will extend to the remaining Jewish neighborhood, showing how both Muslim and Jewish communities have lived together for years, peacefully coexisting.

If you have an early flight home, we will leave Fes the day before after the sightseeing tour to be close to the airport. If you are flying out from Fes, you can enjoy some free time for shopping for Moroccan souvenirs before being transferred to the airport

Many locals working in the tourism industry are fluent in English, facilitating communication for visitors. For first-time visitors, we highly recommend a minimum of 7 days, focusing on Marrakech, Sahara Desert, Fes, and the areas in between.
